About Me
Brett Marlo
I am a Software Engineer, Artist, Musician, Magician, and Fiction Writer. I have an interest in mathematics, logic puzzles, classic cryptography, misdirection (magical), and psychology. I try to weave these fascinations into my stories in interesting and engaging ways without being too heavy-handed. At the end of the day, however, I want the stories to be about interesting characters and their emotional journeys.
I am the author of the mystery thriller,

The Santa Alvera Murders
The Santa Alvera Murders is a mystery/thriller inspired by old pulp novels and classic mysteries.
Seeking escape from a painful past, Patti arrives on the island of Santa Alvera for a hard-earned
vacation filled with music, daiquiris, and relaxation. But her plans are foiled when she becomes
implicated in a series of bizarre and brutal murders targeting the island's famous street magicians.
Entangled in a dangerous game of secret codes, hidden puzzles and greed, she must use her wits, courage,
and a pair of .45 caliber handguns on a quest through the city's twisted streets and hidden catacombs to
find the motive for the killings and reveal the true villain before her own dark past becomes exposed.
